In 1995, Carp donated the collection named after him tothe Lucian Blaga Central University Library Cluj-Napoca (BCU Cluj-Napoca). An important role in his taking the decision to donate the collection to BCU Cluj-Napoca was played by Adrian Marino, Carp’s childhood friend, and also by Doru Radosav, the manager of the institution at that time. The fact that Marino had previously donated his own collection to the same institution represented a model for Carp. BCU Cluj-Napoca also proved its readiness to comply with Carp’s request that the collection should be archived and made available to the public. Most of the Carp Collection was archived by BCU Cluj-Napoca employees in the period 1995-2003. They preserved the organisation of the documents in thematic files according to the system adopted by Carp before the collection was transferred. The collection was deposited in the office of the Special Collections Department, where it can be accessed freely, in keeping with the donor’s wishes.
