Zoltán Dóka (1929–2000) was a Hungarian Lutheran clergyman. He finished his theological studies in 1952. From 1952 to 1958, he served as an assistant pastor in Komárom, Tapolca, Budapest, and Pécs. Between 1958 and 1996, he was the pastor of Hévízgyörk. In 1958, the church of Pécs invited him to be its priest, but the State Office of Church Affairs hindered his assignment. In the 1960s, the Office prevented Dóka’s assignment to the position of professor of theology too. In 1984, Dóka wrote a famous open letter, in which he criticized the leadership of the Evangelical Church. He was one of the founders of the Ordass Lajos Circle of Friends. Dóka was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Zurich in 1990.
