The Student Cultural Center (Studentski Kulturni Centar SKC) is one of the most important cultural institutions in Belgrade and the former Yugoslavia. It was founded and started its work in 1971 as a place for gathering Belgrade students and young Yugoslav artists. During the 1970s, it became the hub of avant-garde movements, ideas and individuals. It played an important role in the youth culture of Yugoslavia in the 1970s and 1980s. The SKC archive has rich collections of written and visual materials from socialist Yugoslavia and is an inevitable place for studying the cultural and artistic scene in the era of socialism. The Center further on offers an extraordinary rich programe of panel discussions, films, fine arts and other artistic currents.
