Acquisition of Ivan Dejmal Collection by Libri Prohibiti
Ivan Dejmal had his collection of documents hidden at his friends’ before 1989 because he was afraid that it could have been confiscated. He retrieved the documents in the autumn of 1990 and from 1998 to 2000 he gave them to the Libri Prohibiti Library. In 2001 Dejmalʼs collection, officially called The Czechoslovak Students’ Movement of the 1960s Collection (Ivan Dejmal Collection), was arranged by Jaroslav Pažout. Jiří Gruntorád, the director of the Libri Prohibiti Library, praised the fictional and philosophical texts of this collection, especially samizdat publications.
