In 1990, the Großhennersdorf environmental library officially associated and formulated the goal of participating in historical-political education in the future. Its materials were stored in numerous boxes. First, it was necessary to achieve long-term financial and project security. In particular, this was made possible in 1998 thanks to the support of the Federal Foundation for Reconstruction and the Saxon Culture Act. The environmental library made its holdings accessible again and opened the archive with an exhibition on opposition and resistance in Upper Lusatia.
