Algis Samulionis (1936–1994) was a researcher (from 1964) in the Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature. In 1973, Samulionis presented various documents and material relating to the famous Lithuanian writer Balys Sruoga and his work to the Manuscript Division of the institute. In 1989, the institute received more material from Samulionis (Sruoga’s correspondence with his wife Vanda).

Samulionis researched Sruoga’s life and work. He prepared 15 volumes of Sruoga’s writings for publication.
