On October 14 1983, Werner Theuer made an appearance alongside Jan Faktor in a courtyard reading. Those readings were semi-public events, not hidden, but also not part of the official public cultural scene. This scene of young writers, musicians, filmmakers, painters and “Lebenskünstler” rejected publicizing their work in a traditional manner through publishing houses. Instead, readings, performances and exhibitions were organized in private apartments, studios or courtyards as a manifestation of the group’s do-it-yourself and self-help ethics. Their self-produced publications helped to foment an individual literary public. A segment of this event was recorded, which includes the audience's reactions. This audio recording of the reading of “Parallelepiped” offers a unique appreciation of the event’s atmosphere.
