Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature
The Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature was established in 1952. It was Soviet Lithuania’s main research institution for the Lithuanian language and literature. Like many other research institutes, it was part of the Academy of Sciences of Soviet Lithuania. From 1952 to 1984, the institute was headed by the influential literature critic Kostas Korsakas (1909–1986).
