The Croatian news agency HINA is a public media outlet and the only national news-gathering agency in Croatia. It was established on 26 July 1990 by special legislation. According to an updated law, which the Croatian Parliament enacted on 2 November 2001, HINA was transformed from a state to autonomous public institution (sui generis) and an independent public media organization. In November 2002, as a legal person, HINA was entered in the court register of Commercial Court in Zagreb.
