National Film Archive in Warsaw is a state cultural institution which is supervised by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It was founded in 1955, and deals with protecting the national heritage of cinematography and disseminating the film culture. In its archives it gathers Polish and foreign film works - not just the films themselves, but also the stills, posters, scripts, collaudation materials, and recordings. In June 2017 the National Film Archive merged with the National Audiovisual Institute.
