The website was launched by Karel Dvořák, who published his own fanzine "Ufík" in 1981, and later devoted himself to collecting, archiving and subsequently digitising the fanzines. There are dozens of digitised sci-fi fanzines found on the web that originated simultaneously with other samizdat texts in Czechoslovakia in the 1980s.
