Opening of the virtual Museum of the Orange Alternative
Opening the second, complete and professional version of the internet museum in 2011 was made possible with series of subsidies granted to the Orange Alternative Foundation. The initial digitisation of the Foundation’s collection and its publication in 2009, i.e. in the first version of the museum, was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. However, it was the funds from the National Audiovisual Institute that enabled the creation of the final version of the Museum in 2011, which today presents several thousand items, mostly photographs, dozens of fragments of films and film interviews, multiple essays, scientific papers and articles, numerous memoirs, posters, and leaflets. Also new materials, either received or acquired by the Orange Alternative Foundation, are continuously added to Museum’s collection. Access to the website is free of charge, and the Museum is available in Polish and English, offering a clear layout and user friendly navigation. Some of the materials, mostly scientific papers on the Orange Alternative, are downloadable in PDF format. The inauguration of the Museum of Orange Alternative in late 2011/early 2012 was promoted by an information campaign in press and on the Internet.
