The Venclova House-Museum and the Parliament of Lithuania organised a conference dedicated to Viktoras Petkus when he was celebrating his 80 year anniversary.

The conference was attended by politicians, religious authorities, representatives of various NGOs, and former Soviet dissidents. The first volume of Lietuva ir žmogaus teisės (Lithuania and Human Rights) was presented to the public during the meeting. Viktoras Petkus was an editor of this volume, along with V. Budnikas and A. Dumčius.
