After the disbanding of the Komsomol in 1991, the abandoned collection of the Estonian Student Building Brigade was kept until 1992 in the garage of the building at 20 Kentmanni St, the former headquarters of the Estonian Komsomol, which was taken over by the Embassy of the United States of America that year. The staff of the embassy found the collection there, and contacted the State Archives of Estonia. After that, the collection was moved to a branch of the State Archives, and later systematised and catalogued.
