The final period of the collection focused on the post-communist era. In 1993, the central records of HSAE, which until then had been kept in Garfield, New Jersey, were donated to the Csongrád County Archives in Szeged. By the year 2000, the entire collection was transported in three phases to Hungary, where it was reorganized, catalogued and partly published by Attilla Marosvári. However, in the meantime, Zoltán Bodnár, the main creator and collector of HSAE central records, died in 1996.
