Małgorzata Iwanowska-Ludwińska (1950) is a painter, poet, member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers, and of the Polish Writers Association. Together with her husband Jerzy Ludwiński - who passed away in 2000 – she co-organised the artistic, therapeutic workshops in Lubiąż and the Punkt Gallery in Toruń.
In 1973 Iwanowska-Ludwińska graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, and a year later she joined the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. Later she worked in the Current Gallery in Warsaw. In the mid-1970s, together with her husband Jerzy Ludwiński, she ran the experimental centre in Lubiąż (near Wroclaw), offering therapy through art. In 1975 the couple had moved to Torun where they created the conceptual Punkt Gallery. In the 1980s Iwanowska-Ludwińska focused on her own art (painting and drawing). She took part i.e. in the “Road and Truth” Independent Art Biennale in Ostrowie Tumskie in Wroclaw. She and her husband actively participated in the artistic life of the 1970s and the 1980s: through exhibitions, outdoor panels, symposiums. Her works were presented on around 50 individual exhibitions and over 40 collective ones. Moreover she published 9 books (both poetry and prose).
In 2004 Iwanowska-Ludwińska was honoured with the Special Prize of the Minister of Culture for her whole artistic career. In 2008 she donated to the Zacheta Lower Silesian Fine Arts Association the documents, photographs, and personal items of her late husband who passed away in 2000. Those materials became the basis for the Jerzy Ludwiński Archive.
