Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland
The task of the Chancellery of the Senate is to prepare opinions on motions proceeded in Senate and gather all materials needed by Senators to perform their duties. The Chancellery provide all the documents needed for the legislative process and in the same time serves as an archive of Polish law-making.
Polish Senate was re-established in the 1989 and its role was one of the points discussed during The Roundtable Talks between democratic opposition and communist authorities. The re-birth of the Senate was perceived at that time as a return to Polish traditions of democracy.
