Tytus Filipowicz (1873-1953) was a Polish politician, diplomat, and veteran of the independence movement. While in the Polish Socialist Party, he was a close associate of Józef Piłsudski. Filipowicz was involved in the Promethean Movement and served as Polish ambassador to Georgia before the Bolshevik takeover. Later he served as Polish ambassador to Belgium, Finland, and the United States. Member of the Polish Government-in-Exile, Filipowicz stayed in exile after World War II. He was associated with the Józef Piłsudski Institute in London.

Filla, Emil

Emil Filla was a Czech cubist painter, graphic designer and sculptor. He was influenced by the work of Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. He was a member of the Osm (Eight) group, who he exhibited with in 1907 and 1908. From 1909 he was a member of the Mánes Association of Artists. Before the First World War he travelled to Paris and spent the war in the Netherlands. During the interwar period he was one of the most important representatives of the Czechoslovak avant-garde. He spent the Second World War in German concentration camps in Dachau and Buchenwald. After the Second World War he worked as a lecturer at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague.

Fištrović, Olivija

Olivija Fištrović was born in the village of Reka near Koprivnica in 1931. She is the daughter of Ustasha soldier Stjepan Fištrović, who, along with his son, left Croatia and settled in Peru at the end of World War II. Olivija remained with her mother in their homeland. She studied medicine, and occasionally worked for a publishing company. After receiving permission to visit a book fair in Greece on the behalf of the publishing company, she legally left Yugoslavia in the mid-1950s. For several years she lived with her father and brother in Peru, and then went to the United States and settled in Chicago, where she still lives today. She has been variously employed in her life, among other things as a librarian at the St. Mary Hospital, developing a love for books that is best reflected in her library, most of which she donated to the Fran Galović Library and Reading Room in Koprivnica.

Flis, Stanisław

Stanisław Flis was a long-time employee of the National Archives in Gdańsk (1989-2008), Institute of National Remembrance (2008-2012), and most importantly the Archives of the National Commission of the "Solidarity" Trade Union (2012-2014). He has been an active member of the Association of Polish Archivists (SAP), the chairman and vice-chairman of Gdańsk Division (2004-2012), and a member of the SAP General Board (2012-2014).

Flis was the main initiator of systematic structuring of the Archives of National Commission of the "Solidarity" Trade Union, its digitalisation and opening to public. He also trained his successors, and acted as a relay between associations and institutions from Pomorskie region. He devoted himself to maintaining the legacy of "Solidarity", and promoted the Archives among scholars and amateurs of recent history of Poland. Stanisław Flis organised numerous exhibitions and conferences, and authored several publications, such as: Antoni Browarczyk, pierwsza śmiertelna ofiara stanu wojennego w Gdańsku, Wojna o akta. He also coordinated the e-Rmoine European Project. From 2012 until his death in 2014 he was involved in the "Dispersed Archives of the "Solidarity" Trade Union" Project, i.e. creation of an information system for locating the "Solidarity" Trade Union records. Its purpose was to facilitate access to the documents for the scholars, thus enabling them to write the history of "Solidarity".

Fodor, József

József Fodor was born on 27 June 1921 in Veresegyháza.
His mother was Erzsébet Richter, his father was József Richter.
He learned how to lead a religious festival procession from his mother, who died in 1936. In 1940, Fodor began to lead regular pilgrimages to various shrines. He got married in 1950 and had a son.
Between 1957 and 1974, he led 153 pilgrimage groups, 12 of which went abroad. In the nearly ten years between 1962 and 1971, 120 groups took a pilgrimage trip with his guidance. In the course of his journeys, he visited 45 Hungarian and 16 foreign shrines. He often returned to a few of his favorite places, but he always strove to visit new places.
He was ill for longer periods. We don’t know much about the pilgrimages he took after 1974.
József Fodor died in Budapest in 1984.
